Happy Halloween Everyone! Halloween dates back 2,000 years when the Celts celebrated the marking of the end of the summer and harvest season. This night was the beginning of the new year. The Celts believed that on this night the boundary between the living and the dead world were blurred. When the ghosts returned to earth on this night they caused chaos and damaged crops. To help celebrate the event the Celts built large bonfires where people would gather. During the bonfire Druids or Celtic priests would dress in animal skins and attempt to tell each other’s fortunes. In AD 43 when the Romans took over the Celtic land they continued the tradition. Today’s Halloween is celebrated by young children and teenagers dressing up and going “trick or treating” Trick or treating is when you go out on the town and go door to door collecting candy. Older teenagers and Adults have Halloween parties. Halloween is every year on October 31st. What are you doing for you Halloween? What are you dressing up as?

Halloween is accompanied by many popular activities such as trick or treating, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, haunted attractions, pumpkin carving, watching a reading scary stories and movies. One of my favorite Halloween activities is carving pumpkins. Every year on devils night I carve a pumpkin. I enjoy coming up with a design. My family always cooks pumpkin seeds too. This year for the first time I decided to go to a haunted house. It was a lot of fun but kind of made me feel sick. It was fun to be scared of not knowing what was going to jump out at me. I believe the fear of what was going to happen in the house was scarier than what actually happened. I would definitely go to a haunted house again next year. This year I passed out candy. I thought it was fun seeing kids dressed up in their costumes. I enjoyed my Halloween and can not wait for it to come next year.
Halloween is a really fun holiday. It is one of my favorites. I love getting scared, watching horror movies, and going to haunted houses. I also went to a haunted house this year. It was one of my first real haunted houses. It was really fun but really really scary at first. I would defiantly go again next year. I love passing out candy and seeing all the little kids costumes. Some people don’t think teenagers should go trick-or-treating, but I think anyone can go; it’s just supposed to be fun. My family always goes pumpkin picking before Halloween and then we carve the pumpkins. My mom loves passing out candy to the kids so she always buys the king sized candy bars. I remember when I was little the houses with the king sized candy were the best. I usually help pass out candy but this year I was really sick during Halloween so I didn’t do anything but sleep. Halloween is an awesome holiday and I can’t wait until next year.
