The Difference Between Men and Women
Dave Barry writes a humorous story about the difference between men and women. I personally found this article very funny. It amazed me how true it was. I could not believe how well Barry could make differences between the sexes. Do you agree? He made it really obvious that women over think things and that men do the exact opposite. I do the exact the same thing. I always over think things, I am constantly examining every little detail of a conversation to look for the deeper meaning. I also am always asking my friends for their opinions and advice. Women also interpret things very different from men. I have had discussions with my boyfriends very similar to one of these dialogues. Neither one of us get the same thing out of conversations. I found it very funny that Fred finally has the curiosity to ask a mutual friend about the horse. Even though he is totally off about what Martha was talking about he still asks. Did you like this article? Did you find it humorous?

I really liked the article The Difference Between Men and Women. It was very interesting and really funny. It was so true about how women think as opposed to men. It was funny to see how fast the girl in the article starts to overreact, and how clueless the guy seems compared to the girl. The article shows how unsure girls are, and how laid back guys are. The girl was basically having a conversation with herself and all the guy had to do was nod and say “yes” every now and then. I also thought it was funny how out of it the guy was, that he actually asked his friend if his girlfriend had ever had a horse. It was weird how accurate the author Dave Barry was about each of the people. Like Allison, I also do the exact same thing as the girl in the article. I over think everything. I think about what I just said and how everyone reacted to it. I always think about what everyone is thinking after I say something and how they interpreted it.
I found a very interesting youtube video that relates to this article. Mark Gungor, a comedian entertains people about the male and female brain. He talks about the differences. He uses humor to talk to show how different we are from each other. In this video clip he also talks about memories. He gives examples of how the female memory is so different from the male memory. Female memories tend to be better than males because they tend to be more emotional and relate emotions to the memories. I found it ironic that this was being discussed in this video because in AP Psychology, my class just finished our memory unit. It is very true because I remember much more than my guy friends do. I also agree with Claire. She is right that the girl is basically having a conversation with herself. I think the funniest thing is that neither of them realizes they are both talking and thinking about different topics.

I liked the how Dave Barry was able to point out that men and women interpret things differently without having to write down any facts or statistics, he did it in a funny way. The best part of the article was that it was 100% true. Being a girl I know that we over analyze every situation. First we think about it for a bit then talk to friends and see what they think, and then again we think about it alone. Basically we get ourselves all in a tizzy about something that a guy may have already forgotten. Also it showed how communication can also become very confused between a guy and a girl. The girl tried to explain how she was feeling so he would see what she was thinking. When she tried to share he just became so confused and lost in the convo he gave up. Basically girls and guys are very different when it comes to their viewpoints.
